The Becket Fund for Religious Liberty held its annual Canterbury Medal Dinner, where Armando Valladares–a longtime Cuban prisoner of conscience–was given the group’s highest honor. Introduced by the legendary Holocaust survivor, and fellow Canterbury Medal recipient, Elie Weisel, Valladares recounted his torture at the hands of Cuban authorities simply for his refusal to violate his conscience.
