The 1st Amendment Partnership seeks summer interns committed to the belief that pluralism strengthens a free society to help further our efforts to safeguard religious freedom for people of all faiths.

1AP promotes and protects religious freedom for people of all faiths, representing partnering faith communities that encompass over 120 million Americans. We focus on legislation and policies that ensure individuals and faith-based groups can fully participate in society. Our social media projects highlight the profound contributions of faith and religious freedom to the common good.

At 1AP, you will work with our policy and communications teams, per your interests and professional development goals.

Some activities include:

-Tracking federal and state legislation
-Writing blogs and creating infographics to educate the public on the 1st Amendment
-Analyzing bills, judicial opinions, and regulations
-Attending speakers, events, and exhibits related to our issue areas
-Following media coverage and crafting response messaging
-Developing social media content with policy team and implementing it with comms team
-Publicizing and planning the national Film Your Faith video contest


Desired Education:

Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s or graduate degree program or recent graduate.

Desired Skills:
-Strong writing and research skills
-Interest in the innovative use of media in policy/politics
-Knowledge of the political process
-Passion for the 1st Amendment and free society
